During this three-day training program, the learner will get a good understanding of the used technologies in a usual IP over satellite connection using point to point IP modems. The learner will get all hands-on experience by using the Newtec MDM9000 IP modem for building IP connectivity over satellite. The trainee will be able to perform basic configurations including the configuration of efficiency improvement techniques like, but not limited to, FlexACM and Equalink. The trainee will also get familiar with the BaseBand Frame analysis.
This training program is oriented towards NOC engineers where point-to-point IP connectivity over satellite has been achieved using the Newtec MDM9000 standalone IP modem. The course, a blended format of lectures and practical exercises, is presented in a clear and technical format. In addition to course material, each learner will obtain knowledge required to configure, monitor and troubleshoot the Newtec MDM9000 IP modem and to ensure the availability of the IP network link over satellite based on the Newtec MDM9000 IP Modem.
After completing all associated materials, lectures and practical exercises, the trainees will be able to support the IP connectivity over Satellite via the Newtec MDM9000 IP modem on a day to day basis.
Each learner attending the Newtec MDM9000 training program should have a basic understanding of satellite communication and some familiarity with the concepts described by the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model applied to an IP network.
Next to that, the learner should have a basic user level knowledge of linux operating system command line interface and experience with Ethernet switch configurations.
Each learner attending the Newtec MDM9000 training session must bring a laptop running Windows 7/10, administrative privileges with the firewall temporarily disabled and having installed the following software: Internet Explorer, PuTTY, WinSCP.
