Next-generation network to serve growing financial sector, provide business continuity to operator’s legacy customers

Herndon, Va., September 13, 2008 - VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect), a company of VT Systems Inc (VT Systems), today announced that CYBERNET, a leading Internet and data communications provider, has implemented a next-generation IP network built on iDirect’s Evolution DVB-S2 product line with Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM). The new network allows CYBERNET to deliver critical broadband connectivity to a range of businesses, especially in the financial sector, which is experiencing rapid growth.  iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.

CYBERNET selected iDirect after internal comparisons revealed that’s Evolution product line delivered superior bandwidth efficiency. These gains, enhanced by iDirect’s proprietary Group Quality of Service (QoS) feature, enable CYBERNET to deliver a range of enterprise-class solutions simultaneously on the same network without jeopardizing service level agreements. CYBERNET will utilize the new network to provide broadband connectivity to the banking sector, connecting remote offices with enterprise applications and allowing banks to extend access to ATMs and online banking to customers.

As a provider of fiber communications, CYBERNET is also utilizing the new network to install satellite backup networks for its customers that are connected through terrestrial systems. Satellite backup networks provide full broadband connectivity to keep operations running during emergency outages and are unaffected by the weaknesses that cause terrestrial systems to fail.

“Thousands of banks and businesses are in critical need of broadband connectivity and look to us to satisfy their growing demand by delivering next generation satellite service. We selected iDirect’s Evolution product line to support this critical network because our evaluations showed it to be the most mature DVB-S2 solution, allowing us to achieve dramatic efficiencies and readily leverage those gains to bolster our offerings and expand our opportunities.”
