iDirect Technologies Launches IP Alliance ProgramSM to Enable Enterprise Applications
Intel Named First Certified Technology Member of Broadband Development Program

HERNDON, Va. -- October 26, 2004 -- iDirect Technologies, a privately held company that designs, develops and markets the fastest, most reliable bi-directional satellite-based broadband access solutions, today announced that the company has launched a newly developed IP Alliance ProgramSM to support development and deployment of enterprise-class broadband applications. Intel, the world's largest chipmaker, has been named the program's first Certified Technology Member.

The IP Alliance ProgramSM, developed by iDirect, matches the company's leading edge broadband internet protocol (IP) via satellite technology to complimentary leadership technologies from select networking and communications companies to provide enterprise customers with a broad range of robust solutions to support current and emerging broadband applications. The program will support sharing of technical information during product design as well as "end-to-end" interoperability testing and market development to provide certified and/or approved solution offerings. "The program is key to expanding market opportunities and providing solutions that extend enterprise class data networks and their inherent applications everywhere" said Bruce Bednarski, senior vice president of business development for iDirect. "We look forward to the product advancements this alliance will bring through combining iDirect's strength in IP technology with communications products from industry leaders such as Intel."

Intel is the first Certified Technology Member of the IP Alliance Program. iDirect is utilizing Intel® IXP42X network processors for the base platform of iDirect's new satellite networking equipment product line scheduled for launch in Q1 of 2005.

"Demand for reliable, high performance broadband access continues to increase", said Steve Sciarappo, director of marketing operations, Infrastructure Processor Division at Intel. "Integrating our high performance communications processors with iDirect's technology can help customers rapidly take advantage of innovations in satellite-based broadband networking."
