Former Alcatel Scientist Brings Two Decades of Engineering and System Architecture Experience to the Company

RESTON, Va., -- iDirect Technologies, a privately held company that designs, develops, and markets the fastest, most reliable bi-directional satellite-based broadband access solutions, today announced the appointment of Greg Cinque as the company's Chief Technology Officer, reporting directly to John Kealey, President & CEO.

Cinque brings more than 20 years of engineering and system architecture to iDirect, last serving as Vice President of Engineering of Manticom Networks, a company developing a high performance Resilient Packet Ring switch targeted at the VOD market. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Engineering and Co-Founder of IPOptical, a Petabit router manufacturer. His responsibilities included optical switching architecture design, which allowed the product to scale efficiently from gigabits to petabits. Prior to creating IPOptical, Cinque was employed by Alcatel USA [NYSE: ALA] for 16 years, as Senior Scientist, in roles involving design engineering, system architecture, engineering management and marketing. He has been involved with the successful design of narrowband and wideband digital cross-connect systems, including Alcatel's major wideband line with over $2 billion of lifetime sales, and ATM/Frame Relay/TDM/IP multi-service routers. Cinque will oversee iDirect's research activities, including maximizing return on the company's intellectual property and developing the overall technical strategy.

"Greg is uniquely qualified for the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and he will be a valuable addition to the iDirect management team," said John Kealey, president and CEO of iDirect Technologies. "I am confident that Greg's leadership, energy and engineering experience will serve iDirect well."
